Dune is one of the grand old classics, when it comes to science fiction litterature. This colour full scifi story is set in a feudal interstellar empire whose power structure revolves almost solely around the planet Arrakis, a barren desert planet, which has one attraction only: Melange. But what an attraction that is …

Melange is a spice secreted by giant sandworms roaming the planets surface and harrassing the humans trying to harvest the spice. Countless lives are lost in the harvesting proces, but still the harvesters come. Because spice is the stuff that allows interstellar travel. Without Melange there is no interstellar empire. In Dune the two noble houses, Atreides and Harkonnen, fight for control of Arrakis. A fight which makes for some of the most incredible scifi reading ever to hit the universe!
